<아기예수를 찾아온 동방 박사>

(마 2:1-12, 개역) [[1] 헤롯 왕 때에 예수께서 유대 베들레헴에서 나시매 동방으로부터 박사들이 예루살렘에 이르러 말하되 [2] 유대인의 왕으로 나신 이가 어디 계시뇨 우리가 동방에서 그의 별을 보고 그에게 경배하러 왔노라 하니 [3] 헤롯 왕과 온 예루살렘이 듣고 소동한지라 [4] 왕이 모든 대제사장과 백성의 서기관들을 모아 그리스도가 어디서 나겠느뇨 물으니 [5] 가로되 유대 베들레헴이오니 이는 선지자로 이렇게 기록된 바 [6] 또 유대 땅 베들레헴아 너는 유대 고을 중에 가장 작지 아니하도다 네게서 한 다스리는 자가 나와서 내 백성 이스라엘의 목자가 되리라 하였음이니이다 [7] 이에 헤롯이 가만히 박사들을 불러 별이 나타난 때를 자세히 묻고 [8] 베들레헴으로 보내며 이르되 가서 아기에 대하여 자세히 알아보고 찾거든 내게 고하여 나도 가서 그에게 경배하게 하라 [9] 박사들이 왕의 말을 듣고 갈새 동방에서 보던 그 별이 문득 앞서 인도하여 가다가 아기 있는 곳 위에 머물러 섰는지라 [10] 저희가 별을 보고 가장 크게 기뻐하고 기뻐하더라 [11] 집에 들어가 아기와 그 모친 마리아의 함께 있는 것을 보고 엎드려 아기께 경배하고 보배합을 열어 황금과 유향과 몰약을 예물로 드리니라 [12] 꿈에 헤롯에게로 돌아가지 말라 지시하심을 받아 다른 길로 고국에 돌아가니라]

For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." [3] When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. [4] And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. [5] So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet： [6] 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.'" [7] Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. [8] And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also." [9] When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. [10] When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. [11] And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him： gold, frankincense, and myrrh. [12] Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.]

 

오늘은 동방박사들이 아기 예수를 찾아온 이야기를 통하여 성탄절의 의미를 찾아 볼려고 합니다.

동방박사들은 학자들은 지금의 이라크 즉 바벨론 지역의 지도자급 사람들이었다고 합니다. 바벨론 포로시절에 유대인들을 통하여 이런 메시야 사상이 그 지역에 펴졌고 그런 이유로 찾아 오게 되었다는 것입니다.

그러나 동방박사들은 예루살렘으로 잘못 찾아 갔고 예루살렘은 유대인의 왕이 나셨다는 소식에 소동을 하였습니다. 동방박사들은 별을 따라 예수님께로 인도함을 받았고 동방박사들은 아기예수님께 경배하고 황금과 몰약과 유향을 드렸습니다.

헤롯은 동방박사들에게 아기예수를 찾으면 알려달라고 하였지만 동방박사들은 꿈에 지시하심을 받고 헤롯에게 알리지 않고 다른길로 고향으로 돌아갔습니다.

하나님이 왜 천마일이 되는 먼 동방에서부터 박사들을 보내어 아기 예수님의 탄생을 알리셔야 했는가 하는 점입니다. 그것은 바로 유다 땅 그리고 특별히 예루살렘에는 메시야를 소망하는 사람들이 없었을 정도로 영적으로 타락하였기 때문에 먼곳 사람들을 통하여 이 소식을 알리실 수밖에 없었을 것입니다.

중요한 점은 예수님의 재림시에도 영적으로 어두워서 노아와 소돔과 고모라 시대처럼 될것이라는 것입니다.

바리새인들과 서기관들은 아기 탄생의 소식을 듣고 심지어 베들레헴에서 나실 것을 알면서도 정작 동방박사들과 함께 베들레헴으로 예수님을 찾아 가지는 않았습니다. 메시야 예수님이 오시는 것을 마치 꺼려하고 반기지 않는 모습입니다.

그때 그 현장으로 가서 그 아기를 찾았을때의 그 기쁨과 여러 가지 교훈을 찾아 봄으로 뜻 깊은 성탄절이 될수 있기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

 

1. 동방으로부터 예루살렘에 이르렀습니다.

(1) 동방에서 온 박사들

예루살렘에는 메시야를 기다리는 사람들도 없었고 영적으로 흑암이었기 때문일것입니다.

예수님의 초림때에도 각자 자기일에 바쁘고 주님을 사모하지 않는 시대가 될것입니다.

(눅 18:8, 개역) [내가 너희에게 이르노니 속히 그 원한을 풀어 주시리라 그러나 인자가 올 때에 세상에서 믿음을 보겠느냐 하시니라]

(눅 18:8, NKJV) ["I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"]

(계 3:20, 개역) [볼지어다 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그로 더불어 먹고 그는 나로 더불어 먹으리라]

(계 3:20, NKJV) ["Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.]

 

(2) 이방인들의 왕도 되심

(슥 14:9, 개역) [여호와께서 천하의 왕이 되시리니 그 날에는 여호와께서 홀로 하나이실 것이요 그 이름이 홀로 하나이실 것이며]

(슥 14:9, NKJV) [And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be--"The LORD is one," And His name one.]

 

(계 19:15-16, 개역) [[15] 그의 입에서 이한 검이 나오니 그것으로 만국을 치겠고 친히 저희를 철장으로 다스리며 또 친히 하나님 곧 전능하신 이의 맹렬한 진노의 포도주 틀을 밟겠고 [16] 그 옷과 그 다리에 이름 쓴 것이 있으니 만왕의 왕이요 만주의 주라 하였더라]

(계 19:15-16, NKJV) [[15] Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written： KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.]

 

(3) 이스라엘의 수도인 예루살렘에이 아니라 낮은 곳으로 오십니다.

동방박사들은 자기들의 생각으로 당연히 유대인의 왕은 수도 예루설렘에서 나실것이라고 기대했을 것입니다. 그러나 하나님의 생각은 다릅니다.

(사 55:8-9, 개역) [[8] 여호와의 말씀에 내 생각은 너희 생각과 다르며 내 길은 너희 길과 달라서 [9] 하늘이 땅보다 높음 같이 내 길은 너희 길보다 높으며 내 생각은 너희 생각보다 높으니라]

(사 55:8-9, NKJV) [[8] "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. [9] "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.]

 

(사 57:15, 개역) [지존무상하며 영원히 거하며 거룩하다 이름하는 자가 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 높고 거룩한 곳에 거하며 또한 통회하고 마음이 겸손한 자와 함께 거하나니 이는 겸손한 자의 영을 소성케 하며 통회하는 자의 마음을 소성케 하려 함이라]

(사 57:15, NKJV) [For thus says the High and Lofty one Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy： "I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.]

 

(4) 진리를 찾아 왔습니다.

(마 13:44-46, 개역) [[44] 천국은 마치 밭에 감추인 보화와 같으니 사람이 이를 발견한 후 숨겨두고 기뻐하여 돌아가서 자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 밭을 샀느니라 [45] 또 천국은 마치 좋은 진주를 구하는 장사와 같으니 [46] 극히 값진 진주 하나를 만나매 가서 자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 진주를 샀느니라]

(마 13:44-46, NKJV) [[44] "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. [45] "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, [46] "who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.]

 

(5) 솔로몬보다 더 크고 높으신 분이십니다.

(마 12:42, 개역) [심판 때에 남방 여왕이 일어나 이 세대 사람을 정죄하리니 이는 그가 솔로몬의 지혜로운 말을 들으려고 땅 끝에서 왔음이어니와 솔로몬보다 더 큰 이가 여기 있느니라]

(마 12:42, NKJV) ["The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here.]

 

(6) 울지도 않았고 춤추지도 않았다.

(눅 7:31-35, 개역) [[31] 또 가라사대 이 세대의 사람을 무엇으로 비유할꼬 무엇과 같은고 [32] 비유컨대 아이들이 장터에 앉아 서로 불러 가로되 우리가 너희를 향하여 피리를 불어도 너희가 춤추지 않고 우리가 애곡을 하여도 너희가 울지 아니하였다 함과 같도다 [33] 침례 요한이 와서 떡도 먹지 아니하며 포도주도 마시지 아니하매 너희 말이 귀신이 들렸다 하더니 [34] 인자는 와서 먹고 마시매 너희 말이 보라 먹기를 탐하고 포도주를 즐기는 사람이요 세리와 죄인의 친구로다 하니 [35] 지혜는 자기의 모든 자녀로 인하여 옳다 함을 얻느니라]

[32] "They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying： 'We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.' [34] "The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' [35] "But wisdom is justified by all her children."]

 

(7) 찾고 찾으면 만나주심

(렘 29:13, 개역) [너희가 전심으로 나를 찾고 찾으면 나를 만나리라]

(렘 29:13, NKJV) [And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.]

 

(잠 8:17, 개역) [나를 사랑하는 자들이 나의 사랑을 입으며 나를 간절히 찾는 자가 나를 만날 것이니라]

(잠 8:17, NKJV) [I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.]

 

(8) 앙망하라

(사 40:27-31, 개역) [[27] 야곱아 네가 어찌하여 말하며 이스라엘아 네가 어찌하여 이르기를 내 사정은 여호와께 숨겨졌으며 원통한 것은 내 하나님에게서 수리하심을 받지 못한다 하느냐 [28] 너는 알지 못하였느냐 듣지 못하였느냐 영원하신 하나님 여호와, 땅 끝까지 창조하신 자는 피곤치 아니하시며 곤비치 아니하시며 명철이 한이 없으시며 [29] 피곤한 자에게는 능력을 주시며 무능한 자에게는 힘을 더하시나니 [30] 소년이라도 피곤하며 곤비하며 장정이라도 넘어지며 자빠지되 [31] 오직 여호와를 앙망하는 자는 새 힘을 얻으리니 독수리의 날개치며 올라감 같을 것이요 달음박질하여도 곤비치 아니하겠고 걸어가도 피곤치 아니하리로다]

(사 40:27-31, NKJV) [[27] Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel： "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"? [28] Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. [29] He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. [30] Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, [31] But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.]

 

(9) 사모하라

(시 42:1-3, 개역) [[1] [고라 자손의 마스길, 영장으로 한 노래] 하나님이여 사슴이 시냇물을 찾기에 갈급함 같이 내 영혼이 주를 찾기에 갈급하니이다 [2] 내 영혼이 하나님 곧 생존하시는 하나님을 갈망하나니 내가 어느 때에 나아가서 하나님 앞에 뵈올꼬 [3] 사람들이 종일 나더러 하는 말이 네 하나님이 어디 있느뇨 하니 내 눈물이 주야로 내 음식이 되었도다]

(시 42:1-3, NKJV) [[1] To the Chief Musician. A Contmeplation of the sons of Korah. As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. [2] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? [3] My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, "Where is your God?"]

(10) 금을 찾는것 같이

(잠 2:1-8, 개역) [[1] 내 아들아 네가 만일 나의 말을 받으며 나의 계명을 네게 간직하며 [2] 네 귀를 지혜에 기울이며 네 마음을 명철에 두며 [3] 지식을 불러 구하며 명철을 얻으려고 소리를 높이며 [4] 은을 구하는 것 같이 그것을 구하며 감추인 보배를 찾는 것 같이 그것을 찾으면 [5] 여호와 경외하기를 깨달으며 하나님을 알게 되리니 [6] 대저 여호와는 지혜를 주시며 지식과 명철을 그 입에서 내심이며 [7] 그는 정직한 자를 위하여 완전한 지혜를 예비하시며 행실이 온전한 자에게 방패가 되시나니 [8] 대저 그는 공평의 길을 보호하시며 그 성도들의 길을 보전하려 하심이니라]

(11) 이 성탄절에 주님을 만나고 체험하자.

(눅 2:16-17, 개역) [[16] 빨리 가서 마리아와 요셉과 구유에 누인 아기를 찾아서 [17] 보고 천사가 자기들에게 이 아기에 대하여 말한 것을 고하니]

2. 그의 별을 보고 찾아 왔습니다.

(1) 유대인의 왕으로 나신 분이라고 하였습니다.

(눅 2:4, 개역) [요셉도 다윗의 집 족속인고로 갈릴리 나사렛 동네에서 유대를 향하여 베들레헴이라 하는 다윗의 동네로]

(눅 2:4, NKJV) [Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,]

(2) 별을 따라옴

(계 5:1-5, 개역) [[1] 내가 보매 보좌에 앉으신 이의 오른손에 책이 있으니 안팎으로 썼고 일곱 인으로 봉하였더라 [2] 또 보매 힘있는 천사가 큰 음성으로 외치기를 누가 책을 펴며 그 인을 떼기에 합당하냐 하니 [3] 하늘 위에나 땅 위에나 땅 아래에 능히 책을 펴거나 보거나 할 이가 없더라 [4] 이 책을 펴거나 보거나 하기에 합당한 자가 보이지 않기로 내가 크게 울었더니 [5] 장로 중에 하나가 내게 말하되 울지 말라 유대 지파의 사자 다윗의 뿌리가 이기었으니 이 책과 그 일곱 인을 떼시리라 하더라]

(3) 경배하러 왔노라.

(마 15:8, 개역) [이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다]

(마 15:8, NKJV) ['These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.]

 

(막 7:6, 개역) [가라사대 이사야가 너희 외식하는 자에 대하여 잘 예언하였도다 기록하였으되 이 백성이 입술로는 나를 존경하되 마음은 내게서 멀도다]

(4) 예수님의 인도하심

(눅 9:23, 개역) [또 무리에게 이르시되 아무든지 나를 따라 오려거든 자기를 부인하고 날마다 제 십자가를 지고 나를 좇을 것이니라]

(눅 9:23, NKJV) [Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.]

 

(시 23:1-3, 개역) [[1] [다윗의 시] 여호와는 나의 목자시니 내가 부족함이 없으리로다 [2] 그가 나를 푸른 초장에 누이시며 쉴만한 물 가으로 인도하시는도다 [3] 내 영혼을 소생시키시고 자기 이름을 위하여 의의 길로 인도하시는도다]

(5) 성령의 인도하심

(갈 5:16-24, 개역) [[16] 내가 이르노니 너희는 성령을 좇아 행하라 그리하면 육체의 욕심을 이루지 아니하리라 [17] 육체의 소욕은 성령을 거스리고 성령의 소욕은 육체를 거스리나니 이 둘이 서로 대적함으로 너희의 원하는 것을 하지 못하게 하려 함이니라 [18] 너희가 만일 성령의 인도하시는 바가 되면 율법 아래 있지 아니하리라 [19] 육체의 일은 현저하니 곧 음행과 더러운 것과 호색과 [20] 우상 숭배와 술수와 원수를 맺는 것과 분쟁과 시기와 분냄과 당 짓는 것과 분리함과 이단과 [21] 투기와 술 취함과 방탕함과 또 그와 같은 것들이라 전에 너희에게 경계한 것 같이 경계하노니 이런 일을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 유업으로 받지 못할 것이요 [22] 오직 성령의 열매는 사랑과 희락과 화평과 오래 참음과 자비와 양선과 충성과 [23] 온유와 절제니 이같은 것을 금지할 법이 없느니라 [24] 그리스도 예수의 사람들은 육체와 함께 그 정과 욕심을 십자가에 못 박았느니라]

(갈 5:16-24, NKJV) [[16] I say then： Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. [19] Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are： adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, [20] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, [21] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. [24] And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.]

 

(6) 말씀을 따라 가야 합니다.

(계 1:1-3, 개역) [[1] 예수 그리스도의 계시라 이는 하나님이 그에게 주사 반드시 속히 될 일을 그 종들에게 보이시려고 그 천사를 그 종 요한에게 보내어 지시하신 것이라 [2] 요한은 하나님의 말씀과 예수 그리스도의 증거 곧 자기의 본 것을 다 증거하였느니라 [3] 이 예언의 말씀을 읽는 자와 듣는 자들과 그 가운데 기록한 것을 지키는 자들이 복이 있나니 때가 가까움이라]

(계 1:1-3, NKJV) [[1] The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, [2] who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. (8) 길 진리 생명

(요 14:6, 개역) [예수께서 가라사대 내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라]

(요 14:6, NKJV) [Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.]

 

(9) 천국에 이름

(빌 1:6, 개역) [너희 속에 착한 일을 시작하신 이가 그리스도 예수의 날까지 이루실 줄을 우리가 확신하노라]

(빌 1:6, NKJV) [being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;]

3. 소동하는 예루살렘

(1) 왕이 되고자하는 인간들

(롬 1:18-23, 개역) [[18] 하나님의 진노가 불의로 진리를 막는 사람들의 모든 경건치 않음과 불의에 대하여 하늘로 좇아 나타나나니 [19] 이는 하나님을 알 만한 것이 저희 속에 보임이라 하나님께서 이를 저희에게 보이셨느니라 [20] 창세로부터 그의 보이지 아니하는 것들 곧 그의 영원하신 능력과 신성이 그 만드신 만물에 분명히 보여 알게 되나니 그러므로 저희가 핑계치 못할지니라 [21] 하나님을 알되 하나님으로 영화롭게도 아니하며 감사치도 아니하고 오히려 그 생각이 허망하여지며 미련한 마음이 어두워졌나니 [22] 스스로 지혜 있다 하나 우준하게 되어 [23] 썩어지지 아니하는 하나님의 영광을 썩어질 사람과 금수와 버러지 형상의 우상으로 바꾸었느니라]

(5) 주님의 것

(롬 14:7-8, 개역) [[7] 우리 중에 누구든지 자기를 위하여 사는 자가 없고 자기를 위하여 죽는 자도 없도다 [8] 우리가 살아도 주를 위하여 살고 죽어도 주를 위하여 죽나니 그러므로 사나 죽으나 우리가 주의 것이로라]

(롬 14:7-8, NKJV) [[7] For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. [8] For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.]

(7) 주님은 나의 생명 나의 모든 것

(요일 5:12-13, 개역) [[12] 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라 [13] 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라]

4. 베들레헴에서 나심

(1) 대제사장과 서기관

외식과 교만에 가득 차서 주님을 알아 보지 못하였습니다.

(마 23:25-28, 개역) [[25] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 잔과 대접의 겉은 깨끗이 하되 그 안에는 탐욕과 방탕으로 가득하게 하는도다 [26] 소경된 바리새인아 너는 먼저 안을 깨끗이 하라 그리하면 겉도 깨끗하리라 [27] 화 있을진저 외식하는 서기관들과 바리새인들이여 회칠한 무덤 같으니 겉으로는 아름답게 보이나 그 안에는 죽은 사람의 뼈와 모든 더러운 것이 가득하도다 [28] 이와 같이 너희도 겉으로는 사람에게 옳게 보이되 안으로는 외식과 불법이 가득하도다]

(2) 지식만 있지 실지로 찾아가지 않음

(3) 예언성취입니다.

(미 5:1-2, 개역) [[1] 딸 군대여 너는 떼를 모을지어다 그들이 우리를 에워쌌으니 막대기로 이스라엘 재판자의 뺨을 치리로다 [2] 베들레헴 에브라다야 너는 유다 족속 중에 작을지라도 이스라엘을 다스릴 자가 네게서 내게로 나올 것이라 그의 근본은 상고에 태초에니라]

(미 5:1-2, NKJV) [[1] Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek. (4) 떡집이라는 의미입니다.

(5) 생명의 떡 예수님

(6) 살과 피를 먹어야

5. 헤롯의 부탁입니다.

(1) 나도 경배하게 하라.

겉과 속이 다른 위선자입니다.

속으로는 아기 예수를 죽이려는 계획을 가지고 있었습니다.

(마 2:16-18, 개역) [[16] 이에 헤롯이 박사들에게 속은 줄을 알고 심히 노하여 사람을 보내어 베들레헴과 그 모든 지경 안에 있는 사내아이를 박사들에게 자세히 알아 본 그 때를 표준하여 두 살부터 그 아래로 다 죽이니 [17] 이에 선지자 예레미야로 말씀하신 바 [18] 라마에서 슬퍼하며 크게 통곡하는 소리가 들리니 라헬이 그 자식을 위하여 애곡하는 것이라 그가 자식이 없으므로 위로 받기를 거절하였도다 함이 이루어졌느니라]

(마 2:16-18, NKJV) [[16] Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. (요 8:44, 개역) [너희는 너희 아비 마귀에게서 났으니 너희 아비의 욕심을 너희도 행하고자 하느니라 저는 처음부터 살인한 자요 진리가 그 속에 없으므로 진리에 서지 못하고 거짓을 말할 때마다 제 것으로 말하나니 이는 저가 거짓말장이요 거짓의 아비가 되었음이니라]

(요 8:44, NKJV) ["You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.]

 

(3) 사단의 사주를 받음

(요일 3:10, 개역) [이러므로 하나님의 자녀들과 마귀의 자녀들이 나타나나니 무릇 의를 행치 아니하는 자나 또는 그 형제를 사랑치 아니하는 자는 하나님께 속하지 아니하니라]

(요일 3:10, NKJV) [In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest： Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.]

 

(요일 3:12, 개역) [가인 같이 하지 말라 저는 악한 자에게 속하여 그 아우를 죽였으니 어찐 연고로 죽였느뇨 자기의 행위는 악하고 그 아우의 행위는 의로움이니라]

(5) 광명의 천사로 나타남

(고후 11:13-15, 개역) [[13] 저런 사람들은 거짓 사도요 궤휼의 역군이니 자기를 그리스도의 사도로 가장하는 자들이니라 [14] 이것이 이상한 일이 아니라 사단도 자기를 광명의 천사로 가장하나니 [15] 그러므로 사단의 일꾼들도 자기를 의의 일꾼으로 가장하는 것이 또한 큰 일이 아니라 저희의 결국은 그 행위대로 되리라]

(7) 대적하라

(약 4:7, 개역) [그런즉 너희는 하나님께 순복할지어다 마귀를 대적하라 그리하면 너희를 피하리라]

(벧전 5:6-9, 개역) [[6] 그러므로 하나님의 능하신 손 아래서 겸손하라 때가 되면 너희를 높이시리라 [7] 너희 염려를 다 주께 맡겨 버리라 이는 저가 너희를 권고하심이니라 [8] 근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니 [9] 너희는 믿음을 굳게 하여 저를 대적하라 이는 세상에 있는 너희 형제들도 동일한 고난을 당하는 줄을 앎이니라]

(8) 예수님이름으로 명하라.

(막 16:17-18, 개역) [[17] 믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 저희가 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며 새 방언을 말하며 [18] 뱀을 집으며 무슨 독을 마실지라도 해를 받지 아니하며 병든 사람에게 손을 얹은즉 나으리라 하시더라]

(막 16:17-18, NKJV) [[17] "And these signs will follow those who believe： In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; [18] "they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."]

 

(9) 주님의 십자가에서 패하였습니다.

(골 2:14-15, 개역) [[14] 우리를 거스리고 우리를 대적하는 의문에 쓴 증서를 도말하시고 제하여 버리사 십자가에 못 박으시고 [15] 정사와 권세를 벗어버려 밝히 드러내시고 십자가로 승리하셨느니라]

(골 2:14-15, NKJV) [[14] having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. (10) 감정과 생각에 속지 말라.

(11) 꿈에 지시하심을 받고 다른 길로 돌아간 동방박사들.

모든 것을 아시는 하나님의 간섭입니다.

(왕하 11:1-3, 개역) [[1] 아하시야의 모친 아달랴가 그 아들의 죽은 것을 보고 일어나 왕의 씨를 진멸하였으나 [2] 요람 왕의 딸 아하시야의 누이 여호세바가 아하시야의 아들 요아스를 왕자들의 죽임을 당하는 중에서 도적하여 내고 저와 그 유모를 침실에 숨겨 아달랴를 피하여 죽임을 당치 않게 한지라 [3] 요아스가 저와 함께 여호와의 전에 육 년을 숨어 있는 동안에 아달랴가 나라를 다스렸더라]

6. 엎드려 경배하였습니다.

찾고 찾던 아기예수님을 보았을때의 기쁨은 이루말할 수가 없었을것입니다. 그들은 엎드려 경배하였습니다.

 

(1) 찬양해야 합니다.

(사 6:1-5, 개역) [[1] 웃시야 왕의 죽던 해에 내가 본즉 주께서 높이 들린 보좌에 앉으셨는데 그 옷자락은 성전에 가득하였고 [2] 스랍들은 모셔 섰는데 각기 여섯 날개가 있어 그 둘로는 그 얼굴을 가리었고 그 둘로는 그 발을 가리었고 그 둘로는 날며 [3] 서로 창화하여 가로되 거룩하다 거룩하다 거룩하다 만군의 여호와여 그 영광이 온 땅에 충만하도다 [4] 이같이 창화하는 자의 소리로 인하여 문지방의 터가 요동하며 집에 연기가 충만한지라 [5] 그 때에 내가 말하되 화로다 나여 망하게 되었도다 나는 입술이 부정한 사람이요 입술이 부정한 백성 중에 거하면서 만군의 여호와이신 왕을 뵈었음이로다]

(2) 경배해야 합니다.

지극한 존경을 표시함을 말합니다.

proskunevw(4352, 프로스퀴네오)

예배하다, 경의를 표하다, 경배하다.

 

1. 고전 헬라어 문헌의 용법.

동사 프로스퀴네오는 프로스(prov", 4314: ~에, ~을 향하여)와 퀴네오(kunevw: 입 맞추다)에서 유래했다. 따라서

(a) 프로스퀴네오는 '입 맞추다'를 의미한다(대부분의 학자들의 견해).

접두사는 헬라 역사 이전 시대에 행해진 제의 의식과 관련 있음을 보여준다. 이집트의 조각들에는 예배하는 자들이 신에게(프로스) 입맞춤을 위해 손을 쭉 뻗고 있다.

(b) 헬라인들 사이에서는 이 동사가 신들을 경배하는데 사용되던 전문용어로서, '땅에 엎드리다, 부복하다, 무릎을 꿇고 경배하다'를 의미한다. 아마도 땅(즉, 지신)이나 신상에 입을 맞추기 위해서는 자기 자신이 바닥에 엎드려야 하기 때문에 이러한 의미를 가진 것 같다.

(c) 후에 프로스퀴네오는 통치자를 신격화하는 것과 로마 황제 숭배와 관련하여 사용되었다.

(d) 프로스퀴네오는 예배에서의 꿇어 엎드리는 외적인 행위 이외에도 경외심과 겸손을 나타내는 내적인 태도를 의미하기도 한다.

(5) 주님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑해야 합니다.

7. 보배합을 열어 황금 유향 몰약을 드림

(1) 황금을 드렸습니다.

금은 왕을 의 합니다.

예수님의 신분입니다.

(요 19:19-22, 개역) [[19] 빌라도가 패를 써서 십자가 위에 붙이니 나사렛 예수 유대인의 왕이라 기록되었더라 [20] 예수의 못 박히신 곳이 성에서 가까운 고로 많은 유대인이 이 패를 읽는데 히브리와 로마와 헬라 말로 기록되었더라 [21] 유대인의 대제사장들이 빌라도에게 이르되 유대인의 왕이라 말고 자칭 유대인의 왕이라 쓰라 하니 [22] 빌라도가 대답하되 나의 쓸 것을 썼다 하니라]

(2) 유향을 드렸습니다.

유향은 제사장이 기도할 때의 향품입니다.

명사 리바노스는 신약성경에서 마태복음과 요한계시록에 각각 1회 나온다.

 

(a) 마 2:11에서 리바노스는 동방 박사가 아기 예수님께 드린 값비싼 선물들 중의 하나이다: "집에 들어가 아기와 그 모친 마리아의 함께 있는 것을 보고 엎드려 아기께 경배하고 보배합을 열어 황금과 유향과 몰약을 예물로 드리니라". 이방인들이 메시야에게 유향을 가지고 오리라는 것은 유대인이 예기하고 있었던 것이다(사 60:6).

제사장의 임무는 인간이 하나님께 나아가는 길을 열어 주는 것이다. 제사장은 사람과 하나님 사이에 교량을 세우는 사람이다. 제사장을 나타내는 라틴어 폰티팻스(pantifex)는 다리를 건설하는 자(bridge-builder)란 의미를 지니고 있다. 예수님이 하신 일이 바로 이것이다.

예수님은 하나님 존전으로 향한 길을 여시어 인간이 바로 하나님 앞에 나아갈 수 있게 하셨다.

 

(사 60:6, 개역) [허다한 약대, 미디안과 에바의 젊은 약대가 네 가운데 편만할 것이며 스바의 사람들은 다 금과 유향을 가지고 와서 여호와의 찬송을 전파할 것이며]

(3) 몰약을 드렸습니다.

스뮈르나는 신약성경에서 2회, 마 2:11과 요 19:39에 나온다. 니고데모는 장사를 위하여 상당한 양의 몰약과 침향을 가져왔다(요 19:39). 이는 분명 일반적 관습과 일치하는 행동이다(참조: 요 11:44). 그러나, 그가 많은 양의 순수한 향료를 가져왔다는 사실은 예수님께 대한 그의 값진 헌신 행위를 입증하는 것이며, 이는 마리아의 행동과 유사한 것이다(요 12:2-11).

그 기사에서 예수께서는 그녀의 선물을 자신의 "장례"(요 12:7)문제에 적용시켰으며, 비슷한 단어들이 이 구절과 공관복음 병행구들에서도 등장한다.

유대인들은 애굽 사람들처럼 향료로써 시체를 방부처리하지는 않았으나, 시체에 몰약과 향기 높은 향료를 놓는 것은 시체의 보존을 뜻하는 것이었으며, 유대인의 사고에 있어서 이것은 부활의 필수 요건이었다. 예컨데 마리아와 니고데모는 그들이 이해하였던 것 이상의 의의 깊은 행위를 수행하였던 것이다.

공관복음이든 요한복음이든 복음서들은 다음과 같은 사실을 주장하고 있는 듯하다. 즉 이 행위들은 의의가 깊은 것이므로 복음서에 그 기사를 포함시킬만한 가치가 있다는 것이다. 우리는 의의 깊은 그 몰약과 선사를, 아기 예수께서 받은 그것과 비교해 볼 수 있다(마 2:11). 즉 그것은 일찍이 예수의 장례의 상징이자 부활의 예기(expectation)를 시사해 준 것이다.

예수님은 사람들을 위해 살고 사람들을 위해 죽으려고 세상에 오셨다. 예수님은 우리의 죄를 없이 하기 위하여 죽으시고 우리를 의롭다 하기 위하여 다시 살아나셨다(롬 4:25)

(4) 몸을 산제사로 드려야 합니다.

(5) 마음을 드려야 합니다.

오직 예수님이십니다.

성탄절은 무엇입니까?

주님을 사랑하고 찾는 것입니다.

예수님을 만나는 것입니다.

주님을 경배하는 것입니다.

주님께 나자신을 드리는 것입니다.

무엇 보다도 하나님이 우리를 사랑하셔서 자기 아들을 아끼지 아니하고

주신 사랑의 사건입니다.

 

오늘도, 성탄절의 의미를 깊이 새김으로 그대로 살아감으로 성탄의 기쁨이 충만하고 하나님께 영광을 돌려드리는 복된 우리 모두가 될수 있기를 우리주 예수그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 축원합니다. 아멘!
